Hennessy College

Hennessy Catholic College has a proud tradition of addressing community and student needs founded on the charisms of the Presentation Sisters and Christian Brothers since 1925.

In 2000 Hennessy Catholic College was formed to address the needs of the wider Catholic communities in the South West Slopes.

Hennessy is a comprehensive co-educational regional Catholic College catering for students from Years 7-12. As a regional College, 45% of our students come from a number of large towns and smaller communities such as Grenfell, Harden/Murrumburrah, Cootamundra and Boorowa.

Students have the opportunity to achieve their dreams at Hennessy. The 2013 Year 12 cohort witnessed 25 students obtaining an ATAR above 80, with 76% of students gaining places in universities across NSW in the areas of medicine, veterinary science, education, engineering, physiotherapy along with students obtaining Australian Defence Force Scholarships and a range of apprenticeships.

As a comprehensive Catholic College which strives to address the needs of all students the range of opportunities offered to students has broadened both internally and externally with our partnership with the Australian Catholic University and Young TAFE.

A range of cultural and sporting opportunities are available to students, with pathways provided to national “All Schools” level competitions. Many students and teachers have had the opportunity to represent the College and Archdiocese in a variety of pursuits. The College currently has players representing in Cricket, Rugby League and Australian Football.

The students at Hennessy are provided with a broad spectrum of opportunities by a highly educated and experienced teaching staff. A strong culture of learning permeates the College with a vibrant community of learners regularly gathering to share teaching and learning ideas and strategies.
